Meet The Team

Our Story

For more than two decades, Nielson Construction has been a cornerstone of quality home building in southeastern South Dakota. Our journey began with a simple mission: to make the process of renting, buying or building a home as simple as possible. We’ve built communities based around single family homes, town houses, custom homes, 55+ living and more, so there’s something for everyone!

A Legacy of Quality

As one of the state’s largest residential construction builders, we’ve mastered the art of constructing high volumes of homes without ever compromising on the quality our homeowners expect and deserve.

More Than a Company

Our people are the reason we do good work. From our construction crews and office staff to our Home Concierge team, subcontractors and partners, everyone here shares the same commitment: do the job right.

Our Key Differentiators

We take care of our homeowners from the first question to long after closing day. That means a Home Concierge team to guide you, a service team to support you after you move in and a one-year warranty on every home.

More Homes to Choose From

We build more than 200 homes a year across the Sioux Falls area, so you have more floor plans, neighborhoods and price points to choose from, and a better chance of finding one that’s ready now.

Neighborhood Variety

We build in neighborhoods across Sioux Falls, Brandon, Tea, Lennox, Harrisburg, Garretson, Yankton and Madison, from quiet small-town streets to spots close to everything the city offers.

55+ Community Living

Our specialized 55+ communities offer low-maintenance homes, a pickleball court and planned activities, all minutes from Sioux Falls.

Homes for Every Stage of Life

We build single-family homes, twin homes, townhomes and 55+ homes, so whether you’re buying your first home, making more room or downsizing, there’s a Nielson home that fits.

Tell our Home Concierge team what you need, and we’ll show you the homes that meet your needs.

Personalized Service

Buying a home comes with a lot of questions. Our Home Concierge team will answer them, explain what’s next and keep you in the loop along the homebuying journey.

More Than a Builder

Nielson is a family of companies that covers more than building homes. We also handle real estate, rentals, storage and paving, so when you need something for your home, you already know who to call.
